We know you've probably got questions about our amazing festival so we've tried to provide you most of the answers below, however, feel free to contact us separately if we've missed something off.
WHEN IS THE FESTIVAL?
Marvellous always takes place over the 3rd weekend of July. We invite our overnight guests to turn up on the Friday afternoon and stay until midday on the Monday. Everyone else is welcome over the Saturday and Sunday with arena tickets. We target to open the arena gates by midday but often earlier.
WHERE IS THE FESTIVAL?
There are two entrances to Marvellous:
The main vehicle entrance for Festival parking, Camping and Motorhomes – Dinton Pastures Country Park, Sandford Lane, Hurst, Wokingham RG10 0SU
The main vehicle entrance for Glamping, Accessible Parking, Artists, Traders, Volunteers and Taxi drop off & collection – Dinton Pastures Country Park, Davis Street, Hurst, Wokingham RG10 0TH
Do not attempt to drive to the Davis Street entrance if you are a general festival guest as you will be turned around and redirected to the back of the queue at the Sandford Lane entrance.
HOW DO I GET THERE?
GENERAL VEHICULAR GUEST ACCESS TO THE FESTIVAL SITE IS FROM THE SANDFORD LANE ENTRANCE, AND NOT THE MAIN GATE ON DAVIS STREET

BY CAR
Please make sure you allow plenty of time to reach us. There will be a great deal of traffic on the day and it could take you a lot longer than you anticipate. Although the Festival doesn’t open until 12.00, you can turn up and park any time from 10.00 am.
We have a TTRO (Temporary Traffic Regulation Order) in place on all the surrounding streets. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PARK HERE – you will be fined heavily and your vehicle will be towed away.
DO NOT use either the main car park or the overflow car park if you are coming to the Festival. These will be locked at 7.00 pm and you will incur an £80 fine.
1.From junction 10 M4:
Take the A329(M) towards Reading. After one mile follow signs to Winnersh on the A329. After just over a mile turn left at Winnersh crossroads onto the B3030 to Twyford. Dinton Pastures is sign-posted on the left after one mile. DO NOT USE THE DAVIS STREET ENTRANCE, continue for approx. one third of a mile and take the left turn into Sandford Lane where access to the festival site will be found on the left.
2. From Twyford and the A4:
Follow the AA signs to Marvellous and MAKE SURE TO TAKE THE RIGHT TURN INTO SANDFORD LANE as overshooting it, necessitating a U-turn will cause serious congestion problems.
3. From Woodley:
WE STRONGLY ADVISE ALL MOTORISTS TO AVOID APPROACHING VIA SANFORD LANE FROM WOODLEY.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TAKE CARAVANS OR MOBILE HOMES ON THIS ROUTE AS THERE ARE WEIGHT AND WIDTH RESTRICTIONS ON THE THREE SINGLE FILE BRIDGES.
BY BUS
Buses 128 and 129 between Reading and Wokingham run every hour except Sundays and stop near the main entrance. Make sure you check timetables if you plan to use the bus for your return journey as they may finish before the show ends.
BY TRAIN
The nearest train station is at Winnersh, which is a 10-15 minute walk from Dinton Pastures, walk out of the station and turn left, continue down this road until you go over a motorway bridge (Please be aware that for your own safety, you will need to cross over the road here as the footpath terminates). You can re-cross the road at the new crossing opposite the Davis Street Entrance. Make sure you check timetables if you plan to use the train for your return journey as they may finish before the show ends.

If you’re walking from Woodley then stick to the route around the lakes until you arrive at the Dragonfly Cafe at Dinton Pastures where you will find signs for pedestrian access to the festival. Please bear in mind that your return journey will be made in darkness – so bring a torch and travel in groups! Best to print off a copy of our map.
WHAT TIME DOES IT OPEN?
We plan to open the Arena gates from 11.00 each day, however there may be a delay if we are still preparing the venue. Car Parking will be available from 10.00 a.m
WHAT TIME DOES IT END?
The main stage performances finish at 11.00 p.m each day. Where applicable a silent disco will continue until midnight. Guests are requested to keep their own volume levels to a minimum after midnight.
CAN WE CAMP?
Yes. We have plenty of space and decent facilities on our campsite. Camping tickets also get you a free night’s camping on the Friday. Campers can arrive from midday on Friday, and will be allowed access to the concert arena that evening for a pre-festival ‘soiree’ with the Marvellous crew. The bar and concessions will be open and entertainment will be laid on in a marquee. Festival tickets must be purchased in addition to your camping tickets. Camping tickets are valid for one, two or three nights. The cost is the same no matter how long you stay.
IS THERE A LIMIT TO THE SIZE OF TENT I CAN BRING?
There is no limit to the size of tent you can bring, however we ask that you show consideration to fellow-campers and try to restrict this to something suitable for your needs.
IS ELECTRIC POWER AVAILABLE FOR CAMPERS?
At present there is no facility for electric hook-up in the campsite.
WHAT ABOUT LEAVING THE SITE?
We’d like you to have the quickest and safest get away possible but we will need your help. Most will have been parked facing the direction you need to take to leave the site and will depart via the same gates through which you arrived on Sandford Lane. Please be patient and drive with care particularly keeping an eye out for pedestrians.
CAN I GET DROPPED OFF & PICKED UP?
Yes – there is a designated drop off and pick up point which is clearly signed via the Davis Street Entrance. This is obviously a NO WAITING zone.
CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINK?
Yes. However, there is a strict ban on glass, cans and any cutlery items – so if you must bring in your own drink, please make sure that it is in plastic containers. We would also kindly ask that you exercise some common sense with regard to the amount of drink you bring with you. Security will be extremely vigilant here.
There are fully stocked bars on site as well as a comprehensive range of top notch food outlets, so why not enjoy what’s on offer?
Campers are not permitted to take food and drink into the arena on Friday evening.
CAN I BRING MY OWN CHAIRS, BLANKETS AND GAZEBOS?
Folding chairs and rugs are permitted, however these may not be used in the area immediately in front of the main stage. Gazebo pitches are available in limited numbers, and you will be directed by Stewards to a specific area where these may be set up so as not to obstruct the view of others. Your Gazebo is your personal property and must be carried from the car park to the arena. You are strongly advised not to leave these set up overnight as the organisers will not be held responsible in case of loss or damage. Please note that Gazebo tickets must be purchased in addition to Festival tickets.
ARE THERE ANY FACILITIES FOR THOSE WITH DISABILITIES?
The accessible facilities onsite are for festival-goers with permanent disabilities or impairments as stated in the Equality Act 2010. Broken legs, recent injuries or pregnancy do not qualify for these facilities.
Site Layout and Ground Conditions
The site is accessible to visitors with mobility impairments, however please take weather conditions into consideration when planning what to bring, as mobility could be impacted by muddy patches etc.
Disabled Parking
There is a specific parking area close to the concert arena for those drivers displaying a blue badge. This is free of charge and does not need to be pre-booked.
Toilets
Accessible toilets will be located throughout the site.
CARER ACCESS
I AM DISABLED, CAN I BRING A CARER?
Yes of course you can, every one is welcome at Marvellous, but we have made a few changes this year to our process relating to Carer Access Passes.
Support Worker or Care Assistant
If you are a professional Support Worker or Care Assistant, you no longer need to apply for a Carer Access Pass to support people in your care. Simply present your photographic ID badge at the Accessibility Desk and we will provide you with free access into the arena for that day. The people that are in your care will still each require a valid ticket for entry into the arena. Carers must be with the person in their care at all times.
DLA/PIP Claimants
If you are claiming DLA/PIP at high or middle rate (care component) or DLA/PIP at high rate (mobility component), you can purchase a Carer Access Pass at the reduced rate of £20 per day for a carer to support you at the festival (follow the Tickets link here). You will still require a valid ticket for the day you wish to attend. To validate your ticket you must provide documented evidence in the form of an up-to-date copy of a letter of award from DWP confirming that you are eligible to the staff at the Accessibility Desk when you arrive. A copy of your Blue Badge is not valid evidence. Carers must be with the person in their care at all times.
Blue Badge Holders
Blue Badge Holders are welcome to park for free in our Accessibility Car Park and we can provide mobility support into the arena. Valid tickets are still required for entry into the arena.
Children in Care
To be clear, all children entering the arena at Marvellous are under adult care and are required to be accompanied by an appropriate adult at all times. Therefore a Carer Access Pass is not required for any child. Both child and adult must have a valid ticket for entry into the arena.
WE’RE BRINGING OUR MOTORHOME DO WE NEED CAMPING TICKETS ?
Yes, you will require a camping ticket for every person staying in the Motorhome, however, two camping tickets are included in one Motorhome ticket.
HOW DO I VOLUNTEER TO WORK AT THE FESTIVAL?
If you would like to be part of the Marvellous team then please drop us an email at info@marvellousfestivals.com or use the link on our website to signup. We’ll give you a bunch of goodies including free tickets, money off and food and drink.

It’s important to Marvellous Festivals that we treat your personal data with respect. You can read our Privacy Policy here:

ARE DOGS ALLOWED IN THE ARENA?
With the exception of guide dogs, no animals are allowed on site.
NEIGHBOUR NOISE COMPLAINTS
Marvellous Festivals take our relationship with our important neighbours very seriously. Every year we take no less than 12 dB noise readings from 5 perimeter locations each day to ensure that our event does not get too loud. If any reading exceeds our set limit due to wind or other factors then our sound team immediately adjust the main speaker output to ensure it is under control. Furthermore whilst our premises license allows amplified music until midnight we instruct our final act to conclude their performance by 11pm – this is to ensure the natural noise that people create in leaving is largely complete within the following hour and our neighbours enjoy an uninterrupted night sleep.
If any neighbour wishes to discuss any incident then they may please call on 07770 246182
